Golf Cart or Lsv Rentals
Golf carts and Low Speed Vehicles (LSV’s) have different rules in regards to where and when they can be operated. Low Speed Vehicles are street-legal, and are licensed by the SCDMV. Golf carts are permitted, but are not considered fully street-legal. So why choose a Just Beachy LSV Golf Cart Rental for your vacation?
Driving Your Golf Cart Rental at Night
The biggest difference between golf carts and LSV’s for most renters is the ability to drive at night. Golf carts are NOT permitted for nighttime use on either Isle of Palms or Sullivans Island. Low Speed Vehicles, however, may be driven 24 hours per day.
Wild Dunes LSV Rental Rules
Standard golf carts are not permitted to be rented inside Wild Dunes. However, LSV’s are allowed for most of Wild Dunes. If your vacation rental property is located inside the gate of Wild Dunes, you will need to select a 4 or 6 passenger LSV golf cart for your rental.
Street Restrictions for Golf Cart Rentals
Golf carts are only permitted to travel on secondary highways or streets, and cannot be operated on Palm Blvd (Isle of Palms), Ben Sawyer Blvd (Sullivans Island), or Jasper Blvd (Sullivans Island).
LSV Rental Cart Features and Equipment
Low Speed Vehicles are typically equipped with more features and safety equipment than standard golf carts. In order to qualify as an LSV and be deemed street-legal, they must have seatbelts, headlights, taillights, turn signals, and side-view mirrors.
